Our story

## Built around one job, done properly

John McBride founded Hot Water System Perth in 2021 out of a workshop in Rivervale, a few minutes from the CBD. He had spent years on general plumbing call-outs and kept seeing the same pattern: hot water failures were the jobs that upset households most, and the jobs most often handled badly.

Too many customers were quoted over the phone without anyone looking at the unit, sold a replacement when a $180 element would have done, or left waiting three days in winter because the right part was never on the van. So the business was built the other way around. Diagnose on site. Quote in writing. Carry the common parts. Say no to work that does not benefit the customer.

Five years on we cover the whole Perth metro, north and south of the Swan River, with a network of localised contractors and 24/7 emergency dispatch. We have completed more than a thousand hot water jobs across gas, electric, solar and heat pump systems, from a single tank swap in a Carlisle character home to staged replacements across apartment blocks for body corporates.

The energy-efficiency side has grown fastest. Water heating accounts for roughly a quarter of a typical Perth household's energy bill, and with federal STC rebates taking $800 to $1,500 or more off an eligible heat pump or solar system, the maths increasingly favours an upgrade. We handle that paperwork so the discount shows up in your quote rather than in a form you have to chase.
